I come from a working-class family and neither of my parents went to university. I know from experience how unequal the educational journey can feel when you don't have the resources, guidance, or networks that many students from wealthier backgrounds have and often take for granted. I also know that small amounts of advice and encouragement at the right time can make a difference. As such, I want to use my experience to help students from under-privileged backgrounds navigate higher education. This is the social and personal backdrop to the Bridging the Gap initiative.
I am offering free 30-minute online tutoring and mentoring sessions for students from backgrounds that have historically faced structural barriers in higher education. This includes, but is not limited to, students who are or have been:
Students do not need to provide proof or justify their circumstances to access support. For safeguarding reasons, I can only accept students that are aged 18+.

This initiative is personal and independent -- it is not affiliated with my employer university. It is intended to provide guidance and encouragement, not to replace formal teaching or institutional support. It comes with no guarantees or promises.
